Most modern compliance programs require an internal auditing function or role.
Most supply management models also require to run an auditing program, and require from the supply chain to also have their own audit program.
Auditing skills are not difficult to develop but are generally not found in the traditional skills base of companies.
This is why we have developed this course.
You need to understand that:
- Audits are very public! You’re on display when you are auditing – what do you want them to say when you leave?
- “What a joke – that proved nothing”
- “What a rat! He cheated!”
- “OK that was fair – let’s change a few things”
- Audits are important! If the business has a problem, everybody will be studying your audit results, at the most crucial.
- Audits are very visible! Your reports go directly to management – they must, must, must be right!
- Audits are very personal! You’re talking to real people about sensitive issues. You can upset people and break up relationships that take years to rebuild, if ever!
- Improved management skill!
You also need to understand the structure and framework of an audit program; from preparation, and resourcing to closing and monitoring performance.
Finally and most importantly you need to understand that audits include a person to person interface: the relationship between the auditor and the auditee is critical to the flow of information and the success of the process. Our course covers people skills and the basic tools needed to understand and control this important aspect of audits.
On completion of the workshop participants will understand the principles of the International Audit Guidelines ISO19011:2003
- Understand why we audit, the benefits and the uses.
- Be able to apply all of the steps in the audit process from the Standard.
- Understand audit terminology, structures and techniques.
- Be competent to conduct audits – scheduling, interviewing, reporting and developing Corrective Actions.
This Global-Mark workshop is only run in-house: this provides organisations and managers the opportunity to adapt the questions (and to an extent the exercises) to their conditions and needs. Global-Mark cannot provide any specific advice, but will answer questions based on its experience and knowledge of the requirements.
To make a booking please contact our office and complete a Course Application Form.
