1              Overview

ISO9001 is the super-star of all compliance programs. Since its release in the 1980’s ISO9001 has become the most used and published standard in the world.  It has been accepted and adopted “as is” by most industrialized countries in the world and is very much a passport to trade.

Quality-wise® has been signed for small companies (less than 20 FTE staff) with low risk processes and products.  Eligibility of companies to apply and continue to be in the Quality-wise® program remains at the discretion of Global-Mark.

Quality-wise® is being offered as a step towards full ISO9001 certification, yet there are no time limits or conditions before full ISO9001 certification needs to be obtained.

ISO9001 (and similarly partial ISO9001 certification) is often used as a supply management tool, where purchasers seek to have confidence in their supplier or potential supplier’s ability to deliver quality.

2              In simple terms

In essence, ISO9001 or Quality-wise® (to a lesser extent) certification reflects a organisation commitment to quality, leadership, systems and sound and stable processes which can deliver consistently products or services that meet their customers expectations.

If you care about your clients, you are organized and you can prove it, certification should be a simple, yet important step.  Certification will assist you prove and demonstrate that you have sound systems, and you are keeping them up to date, and in continued compliance.

3              Specific program conditions

The program is only open to small businesses (less than 20 FTE staff), with low risk processes and products. Should Global-Mark take the view that a client or potential client does not, or no longer qualifies within this category, the client will be notified in writing and given 12 months to upgrade to full ISO9001 certification. After 12 months, the Quality-wise® certification will be cancelled.
