Essential Care Received the “Global-Mark” Tick of Approval

Joanne HurstSuccess of Clients

We are a small business owned by myself and my daughter Jody.  We have been in business for the past 7 years in a high growth industry providing In Home Care for people living in the Illawarra.  In Home Care provides assistance with all activities of daily living including:  showering, grooming, medication prompting, meal preparation, respite, social support, transport and access to community activities.  Our clients are older people or younger people with a disability. These services allow people to live independent, meaningful lives.

Our office is attached to our home and we currently have 3 other staff working in the office, Client Support & Liaison Advisor, Employee Support & Liaison Advisor and Payroll & Finance Administrator.  We have 44 care support staff that work out in the field from Helensburgh to Geroa.

We went through verification to allow us to provide services to clients receiving funding from the NDIS and also to ensure that the services we are providing for all of our clients are of a high standard. We also wanted to know that the policies and procedures we have in place are relevant and up to date with the standards.

The lead up to ensure we had everything in place for the certification was stressful and full on but the actual certification meetings were much easier than anticipated.  The facilitator was very helpful and explained things well.

We take pride now that we can attach the “Global-Mark” logo to our emails and add it to our brochures etc. Verification makes our business credible in our field and provides evidence to our clients that we are compliant against the NSW Disability Services Standards.
