2. Can you provide some top level information about your organisation, such size, number of staff, office locations or similar?

NPA Family and Community Services (NPAFACS) is and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisation, which has been delivering a range of culturally appropriate social services to the communities of the Northern Peninsula Area (Injinoo, Umagico, Bamaga, New Mapoon and Seisia) for more than twenty-five years.

The primary focus of establishing NPAFACS was to provide support to women and children who were victims of family violence with safe facilities a “Women Shelter” and education of children in the NPA region, Over the years, the focus and role of the organisation has evolved to include social, health and emotional wellbeing services to support families remain strongly connected to their family groups, culture and land.

The organisation currently receives funding from various state and commonwealth agencies to operate the following services:

To support these services, NPAFACS has a fully documented operational and service plan in line with services agreement measures, the Closing the Gap Report and national Key Performance indicators to ensure services contribute to positive social and health outcomes for local residents.

3. Are you happy with the outcome?

Yes we now have 5 senior staff in process of achieving there qualifications to commence internal audits on our organisation.

4. Are there any other business benefits you experienced as a result of becoming certified?

We expect that this will raise our profile within our communities, industry and with our stakeholders.
