1.Tell me about your company – what industry you are in and what does your business do?

Quay Civil is a national civil construction company specialising in the design, construction, and commissioning of water, wastewater and utilities infrastructure, in a niche market of government and semi-government bodies.

2. Can you please provide some top level information about your organisation, such as size, number of staff, office locations or similar?

Located in North Ryde, NSW, we are a small-medium sized business with a team of around 20 personnel. Our Projects are located all over NSW and the ACT, taking anywhere from 3 months right up to 18 months to complete. We have the knowledge and experience in-house to facilitate a project from design right through to completion and commissioning.

3. Why did you go through certification?

In addition to certification being a requirement for many government and semi-government tenders, ours systems have thrived having a structured framework to be built against. This has led to an improvement in safety, environment and quality culture as well as an increase in consultation and input from the broader business.

4. How did you find the process with Global-Mark?

The process with Global-Mark is made simple with clear communication and documents to guide you. We appreciated the support we received throughout the process, which helped to foster a positive mindset about going through the process.

5. What is your outcome e.g. are you happy with the outcome?

We gained certification about three years ago and happily achieved re-certification recently. This was a great achievement for the business following a challenging time with Covid and extensive personnel changes.

6. Are there any other business benefits you experienced as a result of becoming certified?

Certification has led to the adoption of a more structured approach across all areas of our business. This has facilitated greater efficiencies and improved client and legislated reporting.
