When Gunter Jacob, began making leaf springs in the backyard of his Moorabbin family home in 1958 he would not have dreamt that 60 years later his company would become a global 4×4 accessories brand.

The Jacob Family continues to lead Ironman 4×4 with its family oriented culture sitting firmly at its core. “The values of honesty, customer care and safety are key drivers everyday” said Tom Jacob, Managing Director. “Ironman 4×4 stands for something way beyond just running the business”, he added.

Driven by this vision, the current owners Tom and Barbara Jacob, have grown Ironman 4×4 into a globally successful 4×4 accessory brand.

In 2011 the company decided that certification to ISO9001 would benefit the company as it expands its business locally and overseas. It was also necessary to have this certification to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport and Regional Services, Canberra.
One of the issues for a Second Stage Manufacture, which encompasses a Gross Vehicle Mass Upgrade project, is the mandatory certification of a quality control procedure. ISO9001 was the logical step to satisfy DoTaRS.

The first certification to the 2008 edition of ISO9001 was gained in 2012.

Subsequently, certification to ISO9001 2015 was gained in 2016 (long before the 3 year transition period expired).

Global-Mark, through John Mason, has been very supportive of Ironman’s efforts in respect of quality control within the organisation.

As the company further expands it business on international markets, the ISO9001 certification is important in establishing and maintaining the credibility and reputation of the company.
