CodeMark Certificate Transition to NCC2022

As you would be aware, the revised National Construction Code (NCC 2022) will be adopted by all states and territories on 1 May 2023. While we do not have a firm date as to when we will have our accreditation schedule updated to NCC 2022 (it is JAS-ANZ dependent), we can start planning, reviewing and preparing the certificates to be in the best possible position to release the documents when we are authorised to do so. Our goal is to have all the certificates ready to go from the adoption date in May.

This is a significant body of work. NCC2022 has renamed all the code clauses, restructured Volume 2 with the introduction of the housing provision, as well as introduced a number of technical changes.

The extent of the work required is certificate dependent and, will be influenced greatly by the following three considerations:

  1. Whether the upgrade to NCC2022 changes the technical requirement associated with the claims made.
  2. Whether the documents referenced in the certificate (manual, specification etc..) need to be updated.
  3. Whether the technical evidences provided and in particular the documents listed in table B2 of the current certificate remain current and adequate to demonstrate compliance with the new code. Depending on the situation, evidence may need to be updated.

You will soon be contacted by your Global-Mark Client Manager to initiate this process. To help with this discussion, we would appreciate if you could review your certificate, supporting documents and technical evidences. Understanding the scope of change to and the expected availability of the revised referenced documents and/or the technical evidences will be essential in the planning of our activities.
